The man known as Baron Joaquin D’Ravensblood uth Cair, is a minor noble in Bremen Valley that is allied with the Royal House of Bremen through the Cair family. Lord Joaquin was born a peasant and was a woodsman and wilderness guide before the Great War. With the outbreak of the Great War, young Joaquin volunteered to defend the Bremen Valley as a milita member rather than as a regular in the regular Army. He was looked down upon at first for being a “lowly, undisciplined, common militiamen” but earned earned fame, honors and fortune in the form of a title and a large land grant for his service as a ranger for the Sovereign Alliance during the Great War. Most famous of his exploits was stalking and hunting down commanders of the Thar Empire, sneaking into encampments and making off with valuable intel and hostages as well as using himself and small groups of militia to outwit, outflank and outfight much larger orc, hobgoblin and ogre units.
Lord Joaquin is now middle age, tired and glad to have land to retire on. Despite his age he remains spry and can be seen hunting on his lands. Bandits in his land are likely to be stopped by him personally rather than one of his marshals. This his willingness to “get dirty and roll up his sleeves” is viewed uncouth behavior by many nobles and evident of his humble birth. Even so he is considered a close family friend and a adviser of the ruler of the Bremen Valley, the Archduke Anton d’Bremen uth Cair (aka Anton Longshanks)
